All About Steam Cleaning With Professional Carpet Cleaning in East Dubuque, IL

May 1st, 2016 · No Comments

When deep cleaning and professional carpet cleaning are mentioned, the idea of steam cleaning is frequently rolled into these processes. While many home and business owners understand the importance of regular deep or professional cleanings, many don’t know that steam cleaning involves no actual steam, and is more complicated than first meets the eye. With ServiceMaster Cleaning Services, you can expect the professional care procedures you need for carpet cleaning in East Dubuque, IL.

We take pride in offering our customers no less than highly trained carpet cleaning technicians certified by the IICRC, stateoftheart cleaning equipment, and the best cleaning products available.

In most cases, when our technicians treat a carpet with a deep cleaning procedure, the treatment involves what is commonly known as “steam cleaning.” However, this term is simply a moniker for a more complicated process called hot water extraction cleaning.

Hot Water Extraction

Hot water extraction is a method used to treat carpet fibers with a combination of preconditioning agents and hot water, agitation of the carpet fibers, and extraction of loosened soil particles, agents, and hot water. Our technicians are trained to use both our truck-mounted and portable hot water extraction equipment to perform this process.

The Process

Our technicians pump hot water (between 125º and 200º Fahrenheit) mixed with preconditioning agents from cleaning tanks into your carpet’s fibers. These preconditioning agents act as detergents, loosening soil particles and cleansing deep into the fibers, while simultaneously suspending the soil particles so they can easily be removed with our extraction methods.

To extract the suspended soil particles, our technicians use equipment that pulls the water, preconditioning agents, and particles back into a separate tank to be safely disposed of. The extraction process can take several passes and some carpets require pH neutralization or leave-in solutions to protect and condition the fibers until the next cleaning.

After each hot water extraction process, we ensure that the carpet fibers are properly dried and groomed to prevent clumping and the potential growth of mold or bacteria.
